A traveler left from a ruined home, To go in search of the unknown, To find the city, field, or wood, In which he most certainly could, Build an abode for heart and hearth, And no longer wander across the earth. He came to the city, almost afire, With lights to quench any desire, Pink and green and orange dance, In time to a devotion, a musical trance. I chase you, Though I know you’ve passed, Across the fields, And valleys fast, Yet I follow, Across Our world, To see the face, A golden pearl.
But I fear to think, Should you I find, That I could see, And not be blind, For I cannot glimpse, Into the light, Which from you flows, As life from spring, To bring your smile to everything.
Yet I ponder, That I did, And found your love, And never hid, Should I see your love-filled eyes, I’m happy then, Content to die.
